Frequently Asked Questions

The Valve monitors the water temperature and pressure; if a sudden drop or rise in pressure/temperature occurs, the valve will automatically close and shut the water off to prevent damage. Connected wireless sensors can also detect water and humidity to automatically turn off the valve. An alert is sent through the mobile device app when anomalies have occurred.

It MUST be installed by a licensed professional plumber on the main water line inside the house before any hot water heaters and water softeners, near an electrical outlet and within range of a strong Wi-Fi signal.
The size of the water pipe needs to match the size of the equipment’s pipeline:
120v standard US outlet.

You must download the AWTOS app from either the Google Play store or Apple App store to connect to the device, and the device is connected through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. You will need to register an account to use the app.

You may have a leak or busted waterline that needs to be addressed. Please consult your licensed plumber and shut off your main water line. If there is a false positive water shut off there is a manual override to turn the water back on by pressing the valve icon in the AWTOS app or pressing the water On/Off button on the physical water valve.

The valve can be used with city or well water.
Yes, there is a 1-year limited manufacturing warranty for each device that covers the internals of the devices and not any physical damage. A replacement must be requested from My180 and ShipEdge. A pre-made return label will be automatically generated for the customer, and a new device will be shipped.

AWTOS Water Sensor Basic Functionality
There are 3 metal contacts at the bottom of the device that signal the valve to turn off when water completes its circuit. There is also a humidity sensor that will detect rising humidity levels from standing water. When water is detected, it will beep and send a notification to shut off the valve and message the end user about the occurrence.
The water sensor must be installed by a licensed professional plumber. It can be placed near the hot water heater, the laundry room, utility room, sump pump, basement, and one of the bathrooms.

System Requirements
Check for labeling on the pipe or use a measuring tape, sewing tape or a piece of string and determine the size (Length divided by 3.14).
Check the network speed and confirm they have at least 10mbps on the download speed and 2 bars of signal. This can be done running a free online speed test at speedtest.net.
Policy and Subscription
Yes, the valve and sensors will function as normal. The application and its features will function as normal. The customer will be able to manage all devices manually. The customer owns the device and cannot get a refund after the return window is closed. All equipment has a 1yr limited manufactures warranty. However, the customer will not be able to get any water damage protection from Orion180 if the policy or subscription is canceled.
